Celebrating 2024: Campaign Highlights & Why 2025 Is the Year for Change! 🎉

Wow – what a whirlwind 2024 has been! Since launching my campaign in June, I’ve been on the move, connecting with so many of you, tackling big issues in veterinary medicine, and listening to what truly matters. As the year wraps up, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey so far, share what’s ahead, and show you why I’m the candidate AVMA needs to elect as President-Elect.

2024 Campaign Highlights 🚀

It’s been an incredible six months, filled with moments that have reinforced my passion for veterinary medicine and the amazing people in it. Here are just a few highlights:

  • 🎤 Sharing My Vision: I had the honor of being interviewed by AVMA Past President Dr. Jose Arce and Voice for the Profession Dr. Katie Berlin – two incredible leaders who are deeply connected to the future of veterinary medicine. These interviews are queued up to post in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
  • 🤝 Connecting Across the Profession: I’ve met with nearly 30 organizations in the AVMA House of Delegates through in-person and virtual meetings. The encouragement and feedback I’ve received from these conversations have been overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing the shared vision we have for AVMA’s future.
  • 🌍 DEIW Advocacy: Completing my Blend Vet certificate and presenting on inclusion and bias reaffirmed my commitment to fostering an equitable profession.
  • ✈️ Cross-Country Outreach: From Utah to the Georgia to Washington to Texas, I’ve delivered keynotes, learned about member and non-member concerns, and shared a vision for our future.
  • 🧳 Hands-On Practice: Working relief shifts and staying connected to clinical practice has kept me grounded in the realities our teams face daily.

Why the AVMA Needs Me 🌟

The veterinary profession is at a crossroads. From workforce challenges to the rise of technology and the need for inclusivity, we must address critical issues with vision, collaboration, and leadership:

  • A Proven Track Record: My work on AVMA’s telemedicine guidelines, advocacy for students and contributions to DEIB programming show my dedication to building solutions that move our profession forward.
  • Bridging Generations: I’ve built relationships with veterinary professionals at all career stages, ensuring every voice is heard in shaping AVMA’s future.
  • Innovation Meets Advocacy: As a leader in veterinary technology, I bring fresh ideas to help the AVMA stay ahead of the curve without losing sight of its roots.

Together, we can create a stronger, more inclusive AVMA that serves the entire veterinary community.

Looking Ahead to 2025

This campaign is about more than an election – it’s about shaping the future of veterinary medicine. In 2025, I’m excited to:

  • Champion workforce solutions to address technician utilization and career pathways.
  • Expand DEIW initiatives to build a truly inclusive profession.
  • Continue advocating for innovation in clinical practice, technology, and education.

And remember, the vote for AVMA President-Elect is on July 18, 2025.
